Italian Prime Minister Mr. Silvio Berlusconi, being the longest serving at that premier post, has resigned from prime minister-ship of Italy. The reason of his resignation is the scale of the financial crisis which has engulfed Italy. He remained in the chair of power for 17 years.
The people of Itay developed strong hatred towards failed policies of Mr. Berlusconi. People came out in huge crowds chanting slongs against Mr.Berlusconi and police had to manage it barely to keep the crowd under control. Even Mr. Berlusconi escaped through a hidden passage just to avoid the anguish of the people.
Mr. Berlusconi is not just a famous politician but also a well renowned businessman. He is being nicked as Cavaliere (meaning The Knight). Mediaset S.p.A that happens to be the largest media commercial broadcasting company in Italy, and world famous Italian football club Associazione Calcio Milan, known as A.C. Milan, both of these huge names are owned by Mr.Berlusconi.
All through his tenures as Prime Minister of Italy, he has constantly been haunted by the clouds of various scandals that off and on kept showering. Mr. Berlusconi's uprising in the politics was instant but reciprocaled by controversies of various nature. Though being in the pit of such difficulties Mr. Berlusconi's managed to survive. He played his cards well till he lost his majority in the parliament over the debt crises issue. General election in Italy are scheduled in Spring 2013. No one is sure whether an interim government will continue till that time or fresh new elections will be called earlie.Although the party of the premiere Berlusconi People of Freedom Party said that it will support the interim government.
